Welcome to Nebraska!
Hello! My name is SnowyKoolAid1! Nebraska has much history, but most Nebraskans know Nebraska as The Cornhusker State. I've wondered how exactly it got the interesting name. Nebraska first inherited the name, The Cornhusker State, because of a well-kown football team named the Huskers. Nebraska comes from an Indian word for flat water, referring to the Platte river, which runs through Michigan, Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming . When the French came through they adopted the name for the land because the Indian tribes who lived there called the area Nebraska.
